Songscribbler.com
This website is devoted to being a showcase for unpublished
musicians to present their original works to the public. The link I
provide here will take you directly to the main page. You'll have to
click links from there, to reach the area devoted to music by
Scruffy Eagle. (Other links on that page can take you elsewhere
at Songscribbler.com, if you so desire.) The music I've posted
there is exclusive to Songscribbler.com - you won't find it anywhere
else on or off the web. Downloads are a mere 50 cents per song - 40
of which is turned over to the originating provider of the music.
It's a good deal for all involved!

alt.binaries.sounds.music.amateur
This newsgroup is devoted to being a place where amateur musicians
can post the binary files of their music, sharing with other
amateur musicians, getting useful feedback, and helping each other
to progress musically. I can't provide a normal link to this, since
it's a newsgroup and not a website - but, I can tell you that
it exists, and that I (and many other more talented others) post
music there for people to download free of charge.

The Bear Creek Band
This is the website some friends I've made while sitting in on gigs at the LVD Casino. They've got a great act that gets the
crowd dancing, and keeps 'em dancing all night long. They've also got a really cool website - artistic and slickly organized.
By the time LVD Casion cancelled all further live music in the lounge, I'd sat it with this band 14 times. Check 'em out!

Chris Vaisvil (aka "Chris and the Clones")
This is the website of a friend of mine, Chris Vaisvil. He's got a really neat graphic that I think is a Kirlian photograph
of a hand, at the top of his Main Page. Check a little further, and you'll find some really good music!

The Hits
This is a 3-member band, comprised of (alphabetically): Gary ("Cookee") Coquoz,
Billy ("Mr. Billy") Grisack, and Dennis Provisor (original keyboard player,
for the band "The Grass Roots"). What the web pages I link to don't tell you,
is that Cookee is an accomplished fiddle player, aside from his other achievements.
From the home page for
"
The Hits", I was able to find links for home pages for
Mr. Coquoz ("
Cookee!"),
and for
Mr. Grisack ("
Mr. Billy!".
I like these guys a lot, and recommend visiting to get to know them.
I should mention, that Gary was the guy who was in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing, and
saying what I needed to hear, to cause me to commit myself to actually taking those first several steps on the endless
path of trying to gain competence as a fiddler.

Johnny Green and the Green Men
This is the official website of a friend of mine, Johnny Green. He's the guy whose band composed and played the theme music
for the "Batman" T.V. show! I met him w/ his band at the LVD Casino, and sat in with his group 6 times. Johnny's a
nice guy, musically talented, and has done a lot of charity work - not to mention, having toured with both the Rolling Stones
and the Beatles. Check him out!

Karen Dee
This is a web page about Karen Dee. She plays drums & sings with a voice that reminds me of Bessie Smith. She told
me she's living in & working out of Nashville now, odd-jobbing with various bands as temorary positions occur.
If you ever get a chance to watch her on stage, grab it! She's a huge talent.

Live at Nine
This is the website of the band "Live at Nine". The core of the band is the
couple, Bob & Judy Poels (drummer/vocalist, & bass player/vocalist). I met
several of their band's members at the LVD Casino, where they were doing a side-job
being backup band for the vocalist Vinny D. Valentine. I was able to sit in with them
on bongos for 2 songs. They're nice people, musically talented, and deserve any good
thing that comes their way. I hope you take the time to check them out!

"Luther Lewis and White Lightning"
This is the official website of a friend of mine, Luther Lewis. His band plays primarily country music, with some rock
& blues tossed in for creative measure. They're based in Nashville, but I met him w/ his band at the LVD Casino,
and sat in with his group. Luther's a nice guy and musically talented.

The Trident Guitar Project Studio
There's a guy I know as, "Mikey Nomad". He's an excellent
musician; active in composing, recording, & performing music.
Today, writing this, it's 09-27-04. Recently, Mikey notified me that
he's upgraded his
Nomad Guitar Studios
website to a new name and location, at
The Trident Guitar Project Studio
. The Nomad Guitar Studios was a pretty cool website, and well worth
your time visiting. I have no doubt whatsoever, that when it's
fully set up, the Trident Guitar Project Studio will be of the same
high quality. This guy can keep you entertained for hours.

Ransom
This is the website of the band "Ransom", led by electric guitar player
and vocalist, Rob Ransom. I met all 3 of the band's members at the
LVD Casino, where they were doing a side-job being part of a backup band
for the vocalist Vinny D. Valentine. I was able to sit in with them on bongos for 2
songs. They're nice people, musically talented, and deserve any good thing that comes
their way. I hope you take the time to check them out!

Robby Vee and the V Rock-its
I've seen Robby Vee & band perform live 3 times. I've sat in with them on bongos, and on djembe. These are highly
trained, skilled, talented, professional musicians - and, good people. I have a copy of one of his CD's
(titled "BOP!"). I've listened to it at least 40 times. It's excellence in motion. There are A/V
samples, on the page I've set link for here.

Scruffy Eagle
Oh - you gotta check this guy out! He's really good!
The breath-taking muse transports him daily to that far, fair cloud
in endless blue firmament and relentlessly dances wild craft and
raw passion on his you-know-what, with presents for all and a rain
of flower petals swirling about. Mysterious, magical strains of
music go wafting through the ether, from instruments unseen and
unimagined by mere mortal men; counterpoint, chorus, and swell.
Sunbeams break through the clouds, to form shafts of brilliance in
darkened skies - crescendo! Brief denoument,... And, when it's done,
the earth heaves a satiated sigh.
Wanna buy a bridge?
No, seriously folks: I'm adding myself to the
"Friends" section of my links page, just in case somebody
saves a copy of it for their own. It'll make it easy for them to get
back to my website again. Anyway, I do like to fantasize that I'm a
friend to myself,... And, I do like to have a little fun now and
then, treading upon normal expectations. OH - and I should mention
re. the "you-know-what": Guitar. (What else?)

W. Todd Fulcher Band
This is the link off the business card I got from Todd Fulcher. Todd is a truly gifted guitar player and
singer. At the very end of his 3rd night performing at LVD Casino in 2005, he performed an original composition.
It was fantastic. His style reminds me of a combination of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix, taken a
few steps further to become his own magical avenue of expression. I had the chance to talk w/ Todd for several
minutes. I learned he's not only a gifted musician, but he's also a truly decent, generous person. From the card:
"Booking Info Contact: Indian Records (818) 754-1497".
Not only that - he's got a hat that almost exactly like mine! (Way to go, Todd!!!)
I should also mention, that it was Todd's band, that had the female singer I was so infatuated with and wrote
the song "Mernie" for.

Wayne Renn
This is a link for the website of a friend of mine, Wayne Renn. Wayne and his band do
a variety of country, rock, blues, & bluegress music. Wayne plays both guitar and
violin. I met him with his beautiful wife at the LVD Casino, when he & his band
were performing there. He let me handle, and even try to play his electric violin!
(Someday, I hope to return the honor.)

Westside Band
This is a link for the website of the Westside Band. I met them at the LVD Casino, when they were performing there. They're
great musicians & entertainers in the areas of rock, funk, & soul. I sat in with them 4 times, doing hand-drumming.

musiciansfriend.com
This is the official website of "musiciansfriend.com".
It's an online musical equipment store which sells an extremely wide variety of musical
instruments and accessories. Their prices are relatively low, and their service is very
good. I've done business with them several times. The quality of the merchandise has always
been excellent - and, in every instance where it wasn't, they fixed it at no cost to me.
I've only had one instance where I was less than satisfied re. their quality of service.
I recommend doing business with them. Orders can be placed online, or via phone call.
(I always call.) Registering with them results in receiving their free catalogs about once
per month, via postal service.

The Music Gallery
This is the official website of the "The Music Gallery", in Highwood, IL. It's a
musical equipment store whose primery focus is on quality guitars. They also provide music
lessons. I came to personally know them over the course of many years living in that area,
and they've always been good to me - put up with my incessant window-shopping, playing the
guitars off the walls, repeatedly forgetting their names; assisted me in obtaining equipment
when my pockets were almost empty, and just generally took care of me in several ways. If you
know my given name and find yourself with a chance to stop in, tell them I said,
"Hi!" and "Thank you!".

GOVSPOT.COM
( ! )
This isn't a government site, but it's about government - and,
it's the very
best site I've found
on the web for any need
to contact or research government
; better than any actual government site I've seen. Whatever you're
after involving government, this seems to be the easiest place to
find out if it exists, what the names are, and how to get there.

accessible. Well worth checking out!

"Violin Master Class"
( ! )
This is the
very best
musical instrument training website I've found so far on the web. It's focus is all about the techniques of playing
classical violin. After only 2 visits there, I feel that what I've learned has already improved my fiddle playing.
